This piece was done as part of a Facebook challenge on one of the colored pencil group pages. The photographer for the reference photo is Dennis Jarvis, via Flickr. It is an 8" x 10" piece done on Stonehenge paper using Faber Castell Polychromos and a bit of PanPastels in the background.

I was raised in the home of a Southern Baptist minister and blessed with a loving, nurturing family. God’s blessings have been in evidence my entire life and it is His grace through Christ Jesus that has provided the abilities I have. I began drawing at a very early age and drew my first portraits in junior high school. My mother remembers me as “always having a pencil in her hand”. There were no art classes offered during high school, so I was excited to be able to attend, and earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from, Mississippi University for Women.
